What is carbon offsetting?

Carbon offsetting is a simple way to help balance out the carbon emissions you create by investing in projects that reduce or capture greenhouse gases.

Why should I offset my carbon footprint?

Even if you're already trying hard to reduce your impact on our planet, some carbon emissions are unavoidable, but you can still help to mitigate your carbon emissions by carbon offsetting.

How can I offset my carbon footprint?

At our nature restoration project at Bac Dubh we are undertaking a peatland restoration project. Healthy peatlands are one of the planet’s most efficient carbon sinks, capable of storing vast amounts of carbon for millennia. One cubic metre of healthy peatland can store 172kg of CO2, so fully restored, Bac Dubh will lock up over 34,000 tonnes of carbon!
