Signs of Spring
After many wet and cold weeks, we are finally seeing signs of Spring at Bac Dubh! The birds are singing and the frogs have been vey amorous - there is plenty of frogspawn in the boggy pools. A lovely, hopeful time of year.

Rewilding Bac Dubh - Two Years On
In January 2024, we acquired 92 acres at Bac Dubh, Poolewe with the objective of restoring the land for nature. As we mark two years since this initiative began, we would like to provide a community update on our progress. The property covers approximately 60 acres of flat peatland and 30 acres of steep hillside. New Year, New Safari!
We've added a new safari to our offering for 2026! "Discover Wild Loch Ewe" is a one-hour guided walk along the shoreline at Poolewe and the mouth of the River Ewe, designed to give an overview of all the amazing flora and fauna around the Loch Ewe area. We might see a seal or otter hunting at the river mouth, wading birds on the shore, ducks and divers in the river or an eagle or buzzard flying overhead.
