CARBON CAPTURE SPONSORSHIP
Sponsor our peatland restoration and make a positive difference for nature and climate!
What is carbon offsetting?
Carbon offsetting is a way to help balance out the carbon emissions you create by investing in projects that reduce or capture greenhouse gases.
Why should I offset my carbon footprint?
Of course the very best way to reduce your impact on the planet is to cut your carbon emissions, by reducing your use of fossil fuels, avoiding single use plastics, recycling, reducing waste, eating less meat and dairy and so on. Even if you're already trying hard to reduce your impact on our planet, some carbon emissions are unavoidable, but you can still help to mitigate your remaining carbon emissions by carbon offsetting.
How can I offset my carbon footprint?
At our nature restoration project at Bac Dubh we are undertaking a peatland restoration project. Healthy peatlands are one of the planet’s most efficient carbon sinks, capable of storing vast amounts of carbon for millennia. One cubic metre of healthy peatland can store approximately 172kg of CO2, so fully restored, Bac Dubh could lock up over 34,000 tonnes of carbon!
By sponsoring our peatland restoration you can offset your carbon footprint by helping to lock up carbon. We are offering sponsorship of one cubic metre of peatland restoration for just £5, helping us to store approximately 172kg of CO2 on your behalf. You can sponsor as many cubic metres as you wish!
