A seed island with a view!

We finished building our first seed island on the hillside on a fine October weekend. Our plan is to remove some of the existing vegetation from inside the fence, and leave the bare earth to see what comes up. There are birch and rowan trees nearby so hopefully they will seed, and the island means they'll be protected from the deer. We're also tempted to collect a few acorns from a nearby oak woodland and pop them in to see what happens.
