Pretending to be beavers

We've finally started our 'leaky dams' project at Bac Dubh! Generously supported by HIEF, wer are creating leaky dams on the Cliff Burn to hold back the flow of water, helping to re-wet the peatland, create new habitat and increase biodiversity. We're excited to see where this journey takes us. But first, we had to get the materials onto site, and we were very grateful to Laide and Aultbea Community Woodland for supplying us with lodgepole pines to build teh dams with. Last night we got the trees over to Bac Dubh in preparation for our dam-building week in a couple of weeks time. We're looking forward to pretending to be beavers and building our own dams!
