Orchids galore!

June is orchid time and we went out onto the lower slopes of the hillside at Bac Dubh to see what we could find. We found three species; lesser butterfly orchid, heath spotted orchid and fragrant orchid although surprisingly, no Northern marsh orchids that we could see. There are far fewer orchids around in the area generally this year, maybe because of the  exceptionally dry Spring that we had.
